You can read my full disclosure here.
As a mom with a child who attends two different preschools (one being his regular preschool and the other is through our local public school where he receives OT/Speech services) there’s always the risk of losing something…a water bottle, a hat (true story) or jacket, or pretty much anything under the sun that accompanies him day in and day out. Outside of the basics such as his water bottle and lunch box, we have a set of noise cancelling headphones that travels with him to and from school. Knowing he has these transitions to two schools each day, the risk of something getting left behind is even greater.
So, I went on the lookout for a way to label his things in attempts to help cut down on said risk. However, I knew these labels had to be able to stand up to a busy kid who is always on the go. I had heard of Mabel’s Labels before, and have seen them on a lot of my own students’ things, and so I thought to check them out for myself for Greyson.
Mabel’s Labels | An Honest Review
When I went to their website I was amazed to see the variety in purposes these labels are good for. They have allergy alert stickers, luggage and bag tags, regular name labels for clothing or sports uniforms/equipment, and the list goes on. But it doesn’t stop at just labels. There’s personalized bracelets, medical tags, stamps, and address labels, too! Seriously, it will be very difficult to not find something you could put on Mabel’s Labels.
For us to start, I just needed basic name labels that could be applied to his things that go to and from school. So, when I became an affiliate for Mabel’s Labels I received a free order of their large rectangular labels to try for myself. Although I received them for free, here’s my honest review of their Large Rectangular Labels.
Large Rectangular Labels
If you’re looking for a basic label for your child’s things that go to-and-from anywhere… these rectangular labels are it. I love how simple, yet identifiable, they are. Greyson’s name is clearly displayed and I enjoyed the little pictures you can choose from to go on your custom label. I went with a robot because of Grey’s current fascination with everything robots. Having the option to choose a picture will help my little guy remember that anything with the robot is his. Plus, he was super excited when they came in the mail and helped me apply them.
One of my favorite features of these labels are just how durable they are! They’re tough little guys! I’ve placed them on everything from his lunch box, water bottle, headphones, and even clothing (even though Mabel’s Labels offers specific labels for just that). I’m very impressed with the quality of the label and how it can keep up with Grey. Another great thing is that they fit to practically any surface – flat, round, ridges…it works!
It’s important that durability and quality are among the top considerations when looking to label anything for a child. Why invest and spend your money on cheap labels that eventually wear away, fall off, or need to be replaced within weeks? I don’t know about you, but I don’t have that kind of time or money.
Final Verdict | Worth It.
So, I’ve been using these labels for about a month or so and I am so happy to report that there has been no lost labels, no lost items, and they appear just as the first day I applied them. I’ve found myself completely obsessed and before summer camp at the end of the year I’m excited to journey into getting Greyson clothing and shoe labels (I mean, how amazing are the labels for the inside of your child’s shoes?!).
If you’re looking to get organized or just simply tired of your child coming home with missing items from school, I couldn’t recommend Mabel’s Labels more. You have a variety of labels to choose from and they’re completely customizable. Plus, receive FREE SHIPPING on all orders! Yes, all orders ship absolutely free, which is a huge plus for this mama.
What’s new at Mabel’s Labels? Emergency Contact Labels!
Since Greyson takes the bus to the school where he receives services, a great option are these emergency contact labels that can be applied to his car seat. They’re just as trustworthy as all of ML other labels and I can rest easy knowing Greyson’s medical/contact information is there in the event of an emergency. See more about these new labels over on their website!
