Friday Favorites + An Anniversary

June 28, 2019

This week was my first official week into summer break since school got out. As a teacher I live for my summers because it’s a chance to slow down, relax, and begin preparing for the year ahead. Hallelujah! The only difference this year from others is that I am in full interview mode as I look for my next teaching position. I held a temporary contract with my previous district and this summer is my chance to lock down that next job.

I’ve kept busy this week and am excited to link up and share my favorites from this week!

+ Today marks my husband and I’s 5th wedding anniversary! I can’t believe it’s been five years already. In these years we’ve enjoyed life, traveled, expanded our family, and moved. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned about our relationship is that the love we have continues to evolve. Life has been crazy lately, but it’s reassuring to know I always have my husband in my corner every step of the way.

+ I’ve rebranded my teaching blog and launched Little Fox Teaching! You can read all about that part of my life here.

+ I am excited to get back into cycling with my all-time favorite studio here in San Diego. If you also love indoor cycling and live in the SD area you absolutely have to try Edge Cycle in the East Village! My wellness was put on the back burner during the school year so it’s about time to get my booty back into shape!

+ This article on what to eat before and after a workout!

+ I’ve set a goal for myself to finally pick up a book and read this summer. Yesterday I went to the bookstore and browsed all of the newest books – there were so many I was interested in! I ended up selecting The Goldfinch (I know I’m late to this bandwagon!) by Donna Tartt. I remember this book being such a hit when it was first released and even won a Pulitzer Prize! The story intrigued me and I can’t wait to start it.

+ This post on how female friendships shape ones identity and ideas about love. I loved the honest and how relatable her situation was, but most importantly, how these early friendships form our understandings about relationships and love. A must-read!

Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend everyone!
